The Fire and Fury statement by President Trump and the threat of "destruction" of the people of Korea by James "Maddog" Mattis, US Secretary of Defense are pushing the world to the brink of nuclear war. There needs to be a unified response demanding an end to the threats. These threats add to the most frightening assemblage of carnage potential surrounding the Korean nations by the United States: 3 air craft carriers loaded up with bomber and other air craft, possibly including nuclear weapons patrol Korean area seas. The carriers are accompanied by a fleet of war ships and 3 nuclear armed submarines. Meanwhile, B1 bombers launched from Guam are making sorties near Korea further increasing the threat of unlimited violence and kill force against the Korean people. Furthermore, South Korea has just agreed to accept THADD missile deployment which could be used in support of an aggressive "preemptive" strike against Korea by the US.
Opponents of US war with Korea are correct to be organizing street protests calling for an end to the US threats, an end to the violent rhetoric from the US administration and to call for diplomacy. Calling for diplomacy and an end to threatening rhetoric is NOT ENOUGH. Indeed the most important demands for us to make at this time is:
THE COMPLETE, UNCONDITIONAL, IMMEDIATE WITHDRAWAL OF ALL US ARMED FORCES FROM THE KOREAN REGION OF THE WORLD AND THE HALTING OF THADD SYSTEMS DEPLOYMENT TO SOUTH KOREA
AN IMMEDIATE END TO ALL SANCTIONS AGAINSTTHE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLES REPUBLIC OF KOREA!
AN IMMEDIATE PUBLIC OFFER TO NEGOTIATE ONCE AND FOR ALL THE SIGNING OF A PEACE TREATY BETWEEN THE US, NORTH AND SOUTH KOREA.
THE COMPLETE FUNDING OF THE NEEDS OF NJ'S CITIES AND ITS IMPOVERISHED COMMUNITIES, NOT A POTENTIAL WAR WITH KOREA THAT COULD UNLEASH THE UNTHINKABLE: NUCLEAR WAR
The US is the aggressor and the nation that has its forces deployed on the other side of the planet threatening a nation the size of New Jersey. It is the responsibility of the people of the United States to make the demand to end this threat not just threatening words but the threatening actions and threatening physical presence of one of the largest kill forces ever amassed. Remember that the war fever, the threats of war and the deployments means that billions in US resources are being expended, enriching war profiteers while depriving the cities of NJ from getting the resources needed to improve life for NJ's impoverished. Be clear that threats of US war on Korea could easily touch off thermonuclear war and ostensibly end life on the planet.
